PKLI gets Cyclotron facility
LAHORE: Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute and Research Centre (PKLI&RC) has achieved another remarkable milestone with the inauguration of its Cyclotron facility, further enhancing its PET-CT services, which have been operational since the institute's inception in 2017. The state-of-the-art Cyclotron facility enables the local production of radionuclides, a critical component for PET-CT scans, revolutionising early cancer detection through enhanced precision and improved treatment outcomes. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Prof Faisal Saud Dar, Dean of PKLI, alongside Dr Khalid Nawaz, Chairman of Nuclear Medicine, in the presence of the PKLI management team. Following the inauguration, the management team toured the newly-launched facility and praised the dedicated efforts of the team in bringing this cutting-edge technology to PKLI, further solidifying its position as a leader in advanced medical diagnostics.
