QWP leader slams PTI for poor governance
CHARSADDA: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial Chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao on Tuesday slammed the provincial government for poor governance and said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had lagged behind under the rule of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Addressing a gathering of party workers in Shabqadar, he said that the province was facing economic and administrative decline under the PTI rule. Sikandar Sherpao said that PTI’s policies turned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into a hub of corruption and burdened the province with debt running into billions.
He called for a probe into loans taken during PTI’s rule to determine where the funds were utilized. Sikandar Sherpao accused the PTI of plunging the province into economic instability, poverty and unemployment instead of focusing on development.
“Despite ruling Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for over a decade, the PTI has failed to work for the uplift of the province. Instead, their policies have led to unprecedented backwardness and financial turmoil,” Sikandar Sherpao added.
He said the government’s inability to address the challenges in Kurram district even after three months showed its incompetence. Sikandar Sherpao expressed concerns over soaring inflation, which has pushed millions below the poverty line and caused immense hardship for middle-class families. He criticized both federal and provincial governments for prioritizing political point-scoring over resolving public issues.
On the recent terrorist attack in Lakki Marwat, Sikandar Sherpao extended his condolences to the families of the two cops who lost their lives. He condemned the government for failing to ensure public safety and restore peace, holding it accountable for the deteriorating law and order in the province.
The QWP leader urged the government to focus on tackling inflation and unemployment, and improving security, rather than pursuing personal and political gains.
