Across Pakistan, whenever a group of citizens wishes to draw the attention of the government to resolve their demands or settle other problems, they take to the roads and block traffic for hours and sometimes even days.
The nation as a whole should resolve at the outset of the new year not to block any public road. Instead, sports grounds or other available spaces may be utilised to hold demonstrations. Simultaneously, the government must also ensure that no public road is blocked by demonstrators, their grievances notwithstanding.
