10,566 held for drug-related offences in 2024

LAHORE: Lahore Police Thursday released 2024 performance report highlighting significant achievements in operations against drug trafficking and gambling.
According to the police spokesperson, the police detained 10,566 individuals for drug-related offences and registered 10,251 cases and seized 7,805 kg hashish, 436 kg opium, 285 kg heroin, 176 kg ice and 77,190 litre liquor from them. The police arrested 5,065 suspects for gambling-related activities and booked 1,212 accused and recovered over Rs18.9million from the accused.
The CCPO has directed the cops to take strict action against accused involved in drug trafficking and gambling.
