PTI stages protest against D-Chowk incidents
ALPURI: The local chapter of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Thursday staged a protest demonstration and took out a rally against the D-Chowk incidents.
The PTI workers and activists holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the government started a march from the District Development Committee office and later gathered outside the Shangla Press Club.
PTI leaders, including Alpuri Tehsil Chairman Waqar Ahmad Khan, Puran Tehsil Chairman Abdul Maula Khan led the rally while district zakat chairman Zaidullah Khan, Wilayat Khan, ISF office-bearers and a large number of workers attended the protest.
The protesters condemned the actions of the government on November 26 and termed the crackdown as an example of brutality, where innocent workers were killed.They said that the international community was calling for the release of Imran Khan and demanding accountability for the shelling and direct firing on peaceful protests during the November 26 demonstrations. The protestors accused the government of using every possible tactic to cover up its failures.The protesting PTI workers passed a resolution and demanded immediate release of Imran Khan and other PTI detainees.
