Women’s basketball to begin tomorrow
ISLAMABAD: Top eight basketball teams from across the country will be seen in action in the National Women’s Basketball Championship starting from tomorrow (Thursday) at Wapda Sports Complex in Lahore.
The event is being organised by the Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF). Wapda, Karachi, Faisalabad, and Bahawalpur are grouped in Pool “A” while Pool “B” includes teams from Army, Lahore, Islamabad and Hazara divisions.
The matches will be played on a daily basis in the championship. The semi-final round of the championship will be played on December 29 while the final will be played on December 30.
The opening match will be played between defending champions Wapda and Karachi. In opening day’s other matches, Faisalabad will take on Bahawalpur. Army will play Hazara while Islamabad and Lahore will be pitted against each other.
Schedule: December 26 (Day-1): Wapda vs Karachi; Faisalabad vs Bahawalpur; Army vs Hazara; Islamabad vs Lahore.
December 27 (Day-2): Wapda vs Faisalabad; Army vs Islamabad; Karachi vs Bahawalpur; Lahore vs Hazara.
December 28 (Day-3): Wapda vs Bahawalpur; Islamabad vs Hazara; Karachi vs Faisalabad; Army vs Lahore.
December 29 (Day-4): Semi-Finals.
December 30 (Day-5): Final.
