Untenable state

This refers to the news report ‘Cracks in the great wall of friendship’ (December 16, 2024). Presently, the PML-N and the PPP, the two decades old major parties form the federal cabinet. However, even the two together could not attain a simple majority in parliament and had to take on yet more coalition partners, which shows how little faith people have in them.

While members of the public suffer under the same despicable conditions and have now become quite used to it, our Chinese friends are, naturally, not too happy with this state. The leaders of a country blessed with abundant natural and human resources should be able to offer something better than what they have been offering to their allies and also their own people. This dysfunctional state is not tenable any longer.
