India beat Pakistan in ACC U19 Women’s Asia Cup opener
LAHORE: India defeated Pakistan by nine wickets in the Group A match of the ACC U19 Women’s Asia Cup at the Bayuemas Cricket Oval on Sunday. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Pakistan struggled to build momentum, scoring a modest 67 runs for seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Wicketkeeper-batter Komal Khan was the top scorer, contributing 24 runs from 32 balls, including four boundaries.
Indian bowler Sonam Yadav was the standout performer, claiming an impressive four wickets while conceding just six runs in her four-over spell. In response, India made quick work of the target, reaching 67 runs in just 7.5 overs and losing only one wicket. Left-hand batter G Kamilini starred for India, remaining unbeaten at 44 runs off 29 balls, her innings featuring four fours and three sixes.
Pakistan will look to regroup when they face Nepal in their next tournament fixture on Monday at 2 pm local time.
