The entire event was planned to sensitise the students, youth leaders, community mobilisers, environmental activists, green volunteers and parents on the degradation of the environment taking place all around us. Roots Green Nurturers seized the opportunity and staged a soul stirring musical story titled ‘The Rejuvenation of Earth.’ It was a message, an eye-opener and a remedial solution to the sufferings of Mother Earth. This event was not a run of the mill or mundane school event. It was outspread before the huge audience in the form of the captivating and mind blowing musical medley, an in-house production of Roots Junior School, DHA-I Flagship campus. It exhibited life on our planet through the lens of mother Earth which made the entire programme stimulating. Hundreds of students aged between 6 to 9 years stormed the stage with their magical performances.
However, the climax of the heart-rendering performances transpired into a beautiful hope song by the melodious school choir that reinforced the spirit of community living and being environmentally conscious and responsible citizens.
The hope song was followed by a poem and performance showing various countries of the world joining hands and uniting in this mission to preserve mother earth on the eve of World Environment Day, celebrated all around the world.
Not to forget, the auspicious moment of jubilation that included the graduation ceremony 2014-2015 of the prized and promising students who were awarded with shields, as well as the celebration of success of the IKMC medalists and winners. Founder and Chairperson, Mrs. Riffat Mushtaq congratulated the parents of the graduates and high achievers and extended her appreciation for their overwhelming support. Mrs. Khadija Mushtaq, in her address said, “Rootsians have created ripples all across the globe as they are excelling in all walks of life which is the result of their holistic development from a very early age.”
Chief guest, Dr. Ejaz Ahmed, Senior Director Programmes WWF Pakistan, said that Rootsians, the young protectors of the Earth had left him spell bound and speechless. “It was nothing short of a Broadway show, very unique and captivating,” he said.
