Al-Qadir Trust case adjourned till today
Imran requests adjournment of hearing, citing small size of temporary courtroom
RAWALPINDI: Judge Nasir Javed Rana of the Special Accountability Court, Islamabad, on Thursday adjourned the hearing of the Al-Qadir Trust reference until today (Friday) without taking any substantive action.
During the hearing, the accused were scheduled to record their statements under Section 342 of the Criminal Procedure Code. However, Bushra Bibi, a co-accused in the reference, failed to appear in court, while Imran Khan was produced in the courtroom.
The Al-Qadir Trust reference was heard in a temporary courtroom set up outside the premises due to the GHQ attack case and other May 9-related cases being heard in the regular courtroom reserved for jail proceedings. On this occasion, Imran Khan requested an adjournment, citing the small size of the temporary courtroom and the lack of media access. The court accepted the request and adjourned the hearing until today (Friday).
