Pipeline along University Road expected to be repaired by Saturday: KWSC
The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) has reported identifying two major bursts in the 84-inch diameter water main on University Road.
Repair work on the first burst began on Tuesday, while a second burst was discovered during a thorough inspection early Thursday morning. A KWSC spokesperson confirmed that repair efforts on both bursts were progressing swiftly, with heavy machinery and staff deployed to the site. However, due to the extensive damage at two locations, some delays in the repair completion were expected.
The spokesperson assured that repairs were on track to be completed by Saturday evening. Under the direct supervision of KWSC CEO Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, the repairs were being conducted on an emergency basis, with round-the-clock operations aimed at restoring water supply to affected residents as quickly as possible.
