Bilawal flays alleged brutality against Peshawar nurses
KARACHI: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has condemned the brutal treatment to protesting nurses in Peshawar by the KP government and demanded immediate release of nurses and acceptance of their demands without any delay.
In a statement here Sunday, the PPP chairman said nurses are respected the world over for their service to humanity but the KP government broke all records of brutality against the nurses and exposed its ugly face to the nation.
He further said the PPP stands with the protesting nurses of Hayatabad Medical Complex and sees police torture and action against them as shameful. “We won’t tolerate such ghastly action against nurses or any other segment of our society,” he remarked.
He said instead of holding talks with the protesting nurses the so-called Naya Pakistan government resorted to applying brutality and torture which is condemnable and lays bare the hollowness of their political narrative.
Bilawal expressed solidarity with the nurses and warned the KP government to improve their working conditions and accept their legitimate demands before their protests are joined by the masses.
