ILF leader says PTI ready to engage with institutions
PESHAWAR: Insaf Lawyers Forum Pakistan’s Secretary General, Moazzam Butt, has announced that the forum’s was prepared to provide legal assistance to workers and leaders during the protest starting on November 24.
Speaking at a press conference he said the party was actively preparing for the protest movement under the guidance of its founder, with Bushra Bibi and Aleema Khan overseeing the arrangements.
Moazzam Butt stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) wanted the state institutions to work within the constitutional limits.He added that PTI was willing to engage with these institutions only if their representatives guarantee non-interference in future political matters.
“Despite Imran Khan being in unlawful detention, the PTI is ready to engage with institutions in the national interest”, Butt emphasized.Moazzam Butt said that PTI’s struggle aimed at establishing the rule of law and upholding the supremacy of justice in the country.
“We will not back down from this struggle under any circumstances,” he said and pointed out the significance of the KP chief minister’s role, as the province was being ruled by the PTI.He said people across the country, including KP, were willing to join the movement for Imran Khan’s release, but it was now the leadership’s responsibility to devise an effective plan.The Insaf Lawyers Forum opposes the 26th Constitutional Amendment, terming it unconstitutional.
