Two robbers arrested
LAHORE : Harbanspura Police Saturday arrested two members of Zahidu robbery gang.
The police detained accused Zahid alias Zahidu and his accomplice Sarwar for their involvement in 12 cases of robbery and theft. The police also recovered four motorcycles, cash and two pistols from their possession.
200 mobile phones returned to owners
The Investigation headquarters in Lahore hosted a ceremony on Saturday and returned 200 stolen mobile phones to the owners. According to a police spokesperson, the cell phones recovery was made possible by special police teams operating under the directives of SSP Investigation Muhammad Naveed.
Meanwhile, the Lahore Police have registered 212 cases and arrested 228 individuals involved in activities causing smog, under the Anti-Smog Action Plan, this year. In a statement issued today, the Lahore Police spokesman said that the Transport Department, in its joint operations with the Lahore Police, imposed fines totaling over 18.4 million rupees on elements responsible for smog in the provincial capital, this year.
