Hospitals’ renal transplantation capacity reviewed
LAHORE:Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq has presided over a meeting regarding renal transplantation at Punjab Human Organ Transplantation Authority (PHOTA) on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Khawaja Salman Rafique reviewed the measures to further increase the current capacity of government hospitals with regard to renal transplantation across the province. PHOTA DG Prof Shehzad Anwar and Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University Prof Mahmood Ayaz and others provided valuable suggestions.
Salman Rafique said that we want to improve the renal transplantation facilities in the government hospitals of Punjab. In this regard, the efficiency of government hospitals will also be increased. According to a conservative estimate, 850 million people worldwide suffer from kidney diseases. About ten percent of the world's population is suffering from this disease.
