The Orangi Town area of Karachi has a population of roughly 2.5 million people but it still does not have adequate network coverage. Dependable internet is not a luxury but a necessity for remote education, telemedicine, and e-commerce.
Internet infrastructure should be prioritised if Pakistan wants to compete in the global digital economy and promote inclusive development. Orangi is one area where heavy investments in reliable internet have to be made.
