LAHORE: All four Pakistani players secured impressive victories as the IBSF World Snooker Championship 2024 began in Doha.
Former world champion Muhammad Asif delivered a masterclass performance against India’s Kamal Chawla, winning 4-1. His victory was highlighted by a century break of 100 in the opening frame. The final score was 135-0, 114-19, 1-56, 77-41, 72-16
Awais Muneer demonstrated excellent recovery skills in his 4-2 win over Thailand’s Kritsanut Lertsattayathorn. He lost the opening frame but bounced back with frames of 100 and 97 points. He then secured victory with a confident 82-27 in the final frame. The final score was 6-103, 100-0, 83-12, 97-0, 36-77, 82-27.
Naseem Akhtar dominated his match against Qatar’s Mhanaa Alobaidli and registered a perfect 4-0 victory.
