Pesco officer injured in attack by power defaulters

PESHAWAR: An officer of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company was wounded when defaulters attacked a raiding team in Rashid Garhi.
There were reports that shots were fired and members of the Pesco team were tortured when they were disconnecting power during an operation against defaulters and power theft.
Reports said a Sub-Divisional Officer Abdul Rafe was wounded and taken to hospital when the alleged defaulters, including Salim and Jawad, attacked the team. Police officials said that they had registered a case and launched an investigation. “We are investigating the case and the accused will be brought to justice,” said an official.
