SBP marks Pakistan Women Entrepreneurship Day 2024
For Business Idea Competition SBP advises to share ideas on SBP website by Nov 10 & win recognition
KARACHI: Pakistan joins the global Women Entrepreneurship Day movement, recognizing the trailblazing achievements of women entrepreneurs nationwide. Hosted by the State Bank of Pakistan, this event celebrates their contributions to the economy and promotes financial inclusion.
The State Bank of Pakistan is dedicated to fostering an inclusive financial ecosystem, supporting women-led businesses to thrive and celebrating resilience, innovation, and success. For the Business Idea Competition, the SBP has advised the participants to share innovative ideas on the SBP website by November 10 and win recognition. The top three winners will showcase their ideas on a bigger stage. The Women of Impact Awards recognise the achievements of women entrepreneurs through the Innovative Leader Award, Social Impact Award, Sustainability Champion Award and Resilience Award. Two awards would be given under each category.
The nationwide Women Entrepreneurship Day celebrations will start on November 19, 2024, with events hosted across 16 SBP BSC field offices. In addition, banks will organize events and ceremonies throughout the week leading up to November 19, making it a week-long celebration of women’s entrepreneurial achievements.
The Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan will be the chief guest, alongside senior SBP executives. Distinguished Country Representatives from UN Women, USAID, and the British Asian Trust will also offer their perspectives. Presidents and CEOs of major banks, together with their senior leadership, have also been invited to this event. The occasion will also be attended by several accomplished women entrepreneurs.
