Sahulat Markaz inaugurated for LWMC workers
LAHORE : LWMC Chief Executive Officer Babar Sahib Din, in a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the welfare of Lahore Waste Management Company’s (LWMC) workers across the city, has inaugurated a Sahulat Markaz at the LWMC Children Workshop on Wednesday.
This markaz is designed to provide essential support and services to field workers through medical professionals, including doctors, HR staff, and access to medicine.
Dr Ayesha, the project in-charge, briefed the CEO LWMC about the services available at the centre, which include immediate first aid and free medicines in case of medical emergencies. For more severe medical issues, workers will be promptly referred to the Social Security Hospital.
Additionally, the centre aimed to address concerns such as absenteeism, salary deductions, and social security on the spot, eliminating the need for workers to travel to the head office for assistance.
LWMC CEO emphasised that the establishment of this Sahulat Markaz will allow workers to access basic facilities quickly and efficiently. He stated that our workers are our real heroes, and we are committed to taking ongoing measures for their welfare.
The Punjab government and LWMC management are dedicated to providing comprehensive support to sanitary workers, who are credited with maintaining the cleanliness of Lahore. LWMC CEO reiterated that resolving worker issues promptly is crucial for ensuring better service delivery.
