Man shot dead in Gizri
A man was shot dead while sitting in his car in the Defence Housing Authority late on Wednesday night, near Mubarak Masjid, within the Gizri police station limits.
The victim was identified as 30-year-old Umair, son of Abdul Ghani.
Police report that Umair had been waiting in his car for 15 to 20 minutes, reportedly engaged in a phone conversation, when two assailants on a motorcycle arrived and opened fire, striking him multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities found a membership card from the Bantwa Memon Jamaat in Umair’s pocket, which helped identify him. Preliminary investigations suggested that robbery was not a motive; instead, the shooting might be linked to personal enmity.
Umair’s body was transferred to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, and police were actively pursuing leads to apprehend the attackers. An investigation is ongoing.
