SBP announces bank holiday

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and other commercial banks will remain closed for public dealing on the first of Ramazan for deduction of Zakat, said a notification issued by the SBP on Tuesday.
The central bank said the SBP offices and all banks/ development financial institutions, microfinance banks would remain closed for public dealings on Ramazan 1, 1437 AH.
However, all employees of the banks / DFIs / MFBs would attend the office on the Bank Holiday, treating it as a normal working day (except for public dealings).
