FPCCI and SECP promote women’s empowerment package
LAHORE: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Atif Ikram Sheikh, Vice President and Regional Chairman Zaki Aijaz, and Vice President Qurratul Ain emphasized that empowering women is not only a matter of social justice but also a catalyst for economic growth. When women thrive, families and communities prosper.
FPCCI officials expressed these views during an awareness seminar organized by the FPCCI in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) on the Prime Minister’s Women Empowerment Package 2024 at the FPCCI Regional Office Lahore.
They said that the inclusion of women in the workforce can significantly boost GDP, enhance productivity and drive innovation. Countries that invest in women’s empowerment enjoy sustainable growth and social stability.
The Prime Minister’s Women Empowerment Package 2024, initiated under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is a significant step towards safeguarding the rights of women in Pakistan. It provides protection and economic opportunities to women, who constitute half of Pakistani society and play diverse and essential roles within their families and communities.
The seminar aimed to discuss the vital initiative that seeks to uplift and empower women across Pakistan. The programme is not merely a policy but embodies a vision for a society where women are recognized as equal contributors to the economy and society. It provides a robust framework to facilitate women’s participation in various sectors, helping them gain financial independence and confidence.
