Growing lawlessness: KP Bar Council announces boycott of courts
KP Bar Council Vice Chairman Sadiq Ali Mohmand expresses grief over killing of people in Kurram tribal district
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council here on Monday expressed concern over the poor law and order in southern districts of the province and announced that the legal fraternity would boycott the court proceedings today (Tuesday) in protest against the growing lawlessness.
In a statement, KP Bar Council Vice Chairman Sadiq Ali Mohmand expressed grief over the killing of people in the Kurram tribal district and extended sympathy to the bereaved families. He said that it was the failure of the provincial government to tackle the worsening law and order and bring peace to the province.
The bar office-bearer asked the provincial government, particularly the high-ups of the police, to pay heed to the issue of law and order, or else the lawyer community would be compelled to take some extreme step.
