German embassy official discusses hockey series with DG Youth Affairs
LAHORE : Head of Communication Cultural Affairs and Protocol German Embassy in Islamabad Jan GerladKrasusser visited the National Hockey Stadium in provincial capital.
The German Embassy official also held a meeting with DG Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal regarding the holding of Pak-German hockey seriesFebruary next year.
Pervez Iqbal and Olympian Khawaja Junaid briefed the guest official about the existing facilities in the National Hockey Stadium and arrangements for the above mentioned hockey matches. The German official expressed his satisfaction after reviewing the arrangements and facilities thoroughly.
Talking on this occasion, Pervez Iqbal said that the organization of hockey matches between Pakistan and German teams at the National Hockey Stadium in February will be a major development. “The prime objective of the said series is the development and revival of game of hockey among the young generation”.
He further said that the visit of German teams to Pakistan will help a lot in developing the hockey culture in the country. “Sports Board Punjab will provide all possible facilities for the successful organization of hockey matches between Pakistan and German teams at the National Hockey Stadium in February,” he added.
Jan GerladKrasusser on this occasion highly praised the historical National Hockey Stadium saying that he is delighted to visit the world's largest hockey stadium. “Pakistan has a very respectable and prominent position in international hockey,” he acknowledged.
Olympian Khawaja Junaid on this occasion said that the visit of German teams to Pakistan is very important for the future of our hockey. “We are quite upbeat that there will be a great hockey series with Germany in February with the support of Sports Board Punjab,” he added. Pervez Iqbal also presented a souvenir to Jan GerladKrasusser on this occasion.
