Work in progress on new industrial phases of SITE and Nooriabad: CM

karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said his government has established the SITE Karachi Phase-III and Nooriabad Industrial Estate Phase-III, for which land has been allocated in Keamari and Nooriabad respectively.

Speaking at the Annual Dinner-2024 programme hosted by the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) at the Pakistan Air Force Museum on Thursday, he said planning and development of the infrastructure was currently in process.

Sindh Minister for Industries Jam Ikram Dharejo, KATI President Johar Qandhari, SM Tanveer, Zubair Chhaya, former senator Abdul Haseeb, Nighat Awan and others attended the event.

The CM disclosed that his government had allotted 2,000 acres of land in Deh Moachko and Gabo Pat, District Keamari, for the establishment of SITE Karachi Phase-III, wherein, planning and development of infrastructure facilities was in progress.

He added that the Industrial Estate of Nooriabad Phase III had been established over an area of 1,150 acres under the private sector.

He stated that his government was working to promote industrialization, and economic and commercial growth in the province while providing a conducive environment for the industrialists and business community.

Korangi Industrial Area had become a vital hub for the country's manufacturing and export industries, the CM said.

He pointed out that the KATI had consistently worked with the government to advocate for better infrastructure in the industrial area. This included pushing for improved roads, better drainage systems and uninterrupted power supply, all of which were crucial for efficient industrial operations.

Shah appreciated the KATI’s contributions towards industrial growth, tax reforms, health and safety measures in the industrial zone, and most importantly, its contribution towards an increase in Pakistan's exports, as 80 per cent of its industries were export-oriented.

He added that despite financial constraints and limitations, the Sindh government had endeavoured to facilitate industries and businesses.
