Sindh bans ASWJ leaders from entering Khairpur, but they still do

The Sindh home department notified on Friday that in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 5 (1) (a) and (c) of the Sindh Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance, 1960, the movement of all the persons listed on 4th Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 including Maulana Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi and Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqi, is restricted from travelling to, enter, reside or remain in Khairpur.
The order will remain in force for 90 days with immediate effect. The grounds of the order are that there are reasons to believe that they will make inflammatory speeches or indulge in activities prejudicial to public safety and maintenance of public order.
Their speeches, presence or other activities may promote feelings to hatred and ill will among different sects professing different schools of thought and thus posting, problem of maintenance of law and order situation.
Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat central leader Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqi was scheduled to speak at a rally organised by his organisation in Khairpur on Friday.
However, there were social media reports that Farooqi arrived in Khairpur and addressed the rally there. His speech was live tweeted by the ASWJ’s social media team.
