The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has claimed arrests of two passengers attempting to travel abroad using fake documents. In the recent operations, two passengers were arrested from the Karachi airport. They were identified as Basheer Ahmed and Akhtar Hussain.
The former belonged to Afghanistan and was trying to travel to Germany on the basis of forged documents. During the emigration clearance, his documents were found suspicious, after which his passport and other documents were subjected to forensic examination at the second-line office. The Afghan citizen had entered Pakistan through the Chaman border under a medical visa.
The FIA stated that Ahmed was unable to provide satisfactory answers when questioned about his medical treatment and the hospital. He admitted that due to the strict scrutiny of Pakistani visas, he obtained a visa on medical grounds using fake documents. He acquired these fake documents from an agent named Abdullah Aziz for 1,500 Afghanis.
The Afghan citizen was arrested and transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi for further legal action. The other arrested man was identified as Akhtar Hussain, a passenger returning from Iraq. His documents were found suspicious during immigration, and the Iraqi visa on his passport was revealed to be fake. Initial investigations revealed that Hussain, who is from Attock district, had acquired fake documents from an agent named Qaiser in Chakwal for Rs200,000. He was also transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi.
