Govt land auction starts across Punjab

LAHORE:The public auction of rural and urban government land started across various districts of Punjab. In the first phase, 314 government properties will be auctioned across the province.

This was stated by Member Colonies, Board of Revenue Punjab, Abdul Waheed Malik, while reviewing the auction process. He mentioned that the Board of Revenue has reassessed the value of government land in all districts and initiated the auction under this new evaluation.

In the first phase, government land in District Chiniot is being auctioned. Every citizen of Pakistan can participate in the auction by submitting a 5% deposit of the total bid amount as a security deposit.

To ensure transparency in the auction process, the Board of Revenue has notified Divisional Auction Committees, which include the relevant Member of the Board of Revenue, the Commissioner, DCO, Assistant Commissioner, a representative from Excise and Taxation, and a representative from the District Accounts Office. The public auction in District Chiniot will take place on Thursday, September 26, at 12pm at the Municipal Committee Hall. The land to be auctioned includes Khasra No 101 (5 acres 5 kanals) in Chak No 202 JB, Bhowana, Khasra No 306 and 305 (8 acres 1 kanal) in Lalian, Watoo Khasra No. 411 (5 acres 7 kanals) in Lalian, and several other parcels in Bhowana, Chiniot, and the Muslim Bazaar area. Abdul Waheed Malik said that the auction was being conducted transparently in accordance with government policy, with information about each auction stage being advertised locally and through public notices.
