Literary body protests portraying Malik Kalu Khan as dacoit
PESHAWAR: A Pashto literary organization has condemned the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board for publishing an article in the English book for class 9 in which the Pakhtun hero Malik Kalu Khan has been mentioned as a dacoit.
On behalf of the Pohantoon Adabi Stori Pakhtunkhwa, noted Pashto poet Abaseen Yousafzai said that it passed a resolution condemning the fake story published in the book as there was no evidence that Malik Kalu Khan who fought against the occupation forces of the Mughal emperor was a dacoit. He termed Malik Kalu Khan as a brave fighter against the oppressors and invader and said he was a hero of the Pakhtun nation.
Abaseen Yousafzai urged the Peshawar High Court Chief Justice to take notice of the matter and award exemplary punishment to those found guilty of insulting Pakhtun heroes.
