CM Khailta Punjab Games: ‘No compromise on merit, discipline’
LAHORE : DG Youth Affairs Punjab Pervez Iqbal reaffirmed that there will be no compromise on merit and discipline during the organisation of the Chief Minister Khailta Punjab Games 2024, ensuring that transparency will be a cornerstone in every activity of the event.
He made these remarks while presiding over an important meeting held at the National Hockey Stadium on Friday to review the arrangements for the highly anticipated Khailta Punjab Games.
During the meeting, the officials delved into various aspects of the event, including the schedule, logistical arrangements, and match formats.
Director Admin Dr. M Kaleem, Director Sports Yasmeen Akhtar, Director Youth Affairs Rana Nadeem Anjum, Deputy Directors Ata ur Rehman and Tariq Khanzada, along with divisional and district sports officers from across Punjab, were in attendance. Each officer provided insights and suggestions about their respective sports disciplines, ensuring that the event would be well-organised and inclusive.
Addressing the meeting, Pervez Iqbal said that Khailta Punjab Games will be the biggest sports event in the history of Punjab. “There will be sports competitions from grass root level to divisional and provincial level in the mega event. After a long time, sports competitions are being held at grass root level in Punjab”.
He said that more than 5,000 players from sports clubs of Punjab will participate in Khailta Punjab Games for the first time. Several talented athletes will emerge from the platform of Khailta Punjab Games.
“The cash prizes worth over Rs80 million will be distributed among the top performing athletes,” he informed.
