Fugitive involved in woman’s abduction arrested from Saudi Arabia
Islamabad:In a major operation by the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) National Central Bureau (NCB) Interpol, a fugitive involved in serious crimes has been arrested in Saudi Arabia and extradited to Pakistan.
The suspect, Ghulam Abbas, who had been wanted by Gujranwala police for the past five years, was apprehended in Saudi Arabia and transferred to Islamabad Airport. Abbas was sought in connection with the abduction of a woman, a crime for which a case was registered in 2019 at Jinnah Road Police Station, Gujranwala.
Following an Interpol Red Notice, FIA Immigration Islamabad successfully handed over the suspect to Gujranwala police. The arrest was made possible through close cooperation between Interpol Islamabad and Interpol Riyadh. NCB Interpol, equipped with cutting-edge technology, operates around the clock to ensure global coordination and facilitate the capture of international fugitives.
