Dear IMF …
We extend our sincere gratitude for your continued financial support to the people of Pakistan. However, we would like to express our reservations regarding the taxation policies tied to these loans. The conditions you have imposed seem contrary to ethical standards and humanitarian values. Despite Pakistan’s history of slow loan repayments, your institution continues to extend financial aid. Furthermore, while the government is largely controlled by influential groups, both at the federal and provincial levels, your reliance on these authorities remains unshaken.
The country is undergoing severe economic hardships, yet our leaders persist in maintaining extravagant lifestyles, disregarding the plight of the citizens. It is difficult to comprehend such expenditures in the face of our ongoing economic struggles. We hope the IMF will consider the broader implications of its policies and the governance challenges Pakistan faces when evaluating future loan agreements.
