Vehicles damaged in gas blast at vegetable market

Panic gripped the Super Highway area after a powerful explosion occurred at the vegetable market on Monday. The sound of the blast was heard far and wide.

Police and the bomb disposal squad arrived at the scene to investigate the explosion. They found out that the blast had been caused by the accumulation of gas in a drain. Police said that there were no casualties; however, several vehicles were damaged due to the explosion.

A CCTV camera footage of the blast that has been circulating online shows a bank’s security guard escaping unharmed after the blast. The video clip also shows a motorbike thrown up into the air by the intensity of the explosion.
