Students injured as two groups clash
LAHORE:A clash between two student groups at Punjab University (PU) New Campus on Monday left five to six students injured from both sides with police reaching the spot to control the situation.
As per the details, the students clashed over a poster placed by Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) to welcome the new students at the Institute of Social & Cultural Studies (ISCS). The argument among the students prompted the IJT and the activists of Punjabi Council to clash by hurling stones and using sticks against each other which left some students injured.
A contingent of police also arrived following the clash. A PU spokesperson said that disciplinary action would be taken by the administration and added that the Chief Security Officer (CSO) had been directed to provide a detailed report about the clash.
