Immigration officer among three held over fake passports
Two people attempting to travel abroad on fake passports were arrested at the Jinnah International Airport, Karachi. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) also arrested an immigration officer for his alleged involvement in assisting the suspects.
Rizwan Khan and Bashir were travelling to Canada. The Canadian passports presented by the suspects were found to be fake. The passports were also verified at the second-line office. According to the second-line office report, the passports lacked several security features.
The suspects had obtained the passports for Rs10 million each. They had acquired the passports from an agent named Usman, a resident of Wazirabad. They were handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi for further legal action.
