PESHAWAR: “The News Education Expo 24” drew a huge response that provided an opportunity to various seats of learning of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to set up 33 stalls and showcase activities.
“The expo gathered public, private universities and other educational institutions representatives under one roof. The visitors, most of them students, benefitted from the education consultants who were present there to facilitate them,” said Haroon Khan, the marketing manager at The News International who headed the event’s organizing team.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi was the chief guest on the occasion, while Managing Director Jang Group Senator Sarmad Ali was the guest of honour.Haroon Khan said the Jang Media Group had been holding expo regularly for the last 13 years. “The Jang Media Group is the pioneer of holding education expos. The process was started in 2011,” he said.
“Some of the universities that attended the expo included Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Peshawar, Women University Mardan, Frontier Law College Peshawar, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute Swabi, Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) Hayatabad, Cecos University Peshawar, Sarhad University Peshawar,” he pointed out accompanied by other organisers.
He said the universities and degree-awarding institutions were provided an opportunity to have interaction with other institutions. “An environment of competition among the institutions is promoted at the expo,” said the organizer.
Saeed Ahmad, a visitor, was happy with the event and said students were facilitated to get firsthand information about different universities in the province.“Several people like me got the opportunity to interact with the representatives of educational institutions and received the information we had aspired for,” he explained.
