Three suspected robbers killed

Two robbers were killed during an alleged encounter with the police in District Central of Karachi on Wednesday. Meanwhile, a citizen killed a suspected robber in the Korangi area.

Police said an encounter took place at Sabri Chowk, Sector 11-B, North Karachi, within the jurisdiction of the Sir Syed police station. During the exchange of gunfire, one robber was killed on the spot and another was arrested in an injured condition, said the District Central police spokesperson.

He said that the deceased robber has been identified as Khadim Hussain, and the injured as Sajid Ali, who also died during treatment at the hospital. Two 30-bore pistols, four mobile phones and cash found on the suspects were seized, and their motorbike impounded, according to the spokesperson.

Separately, a suspected robber was killed by the firing of a citizen near Korangi’s Sharifabad area. Police said that one robber was killed in a shooting by a citizen near the MA Oil Shop. The body of the killed robber was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he was identified as Rana Javed, 30.
