Islamabad

Most elite private schools in the federal capital have announced the start of two and a half months long summer vacation on May 30 in light of high temperature.

They said their campuses would reopen in the third week of August.

The city has around 1,150 private schools registered with PEIRA.

These educational institutions have more than 211,000 students, including 120,000 boys and 92,000 girls, and 13,000 teachers.

As for the government schools and colleges in the capital totaling more than 400, the Federal Directorate of Education, which has their administrative control, has yet to issue the summer vacation schedule.

Usually, these educational institutions close campuses for summer vacation either in the first week of June or second.

The Punjab and Sindh governments have already ordered closure of schools on account of summer vacation in view of the scorching heat.

Online adds: Ministry of CADD has announced summer vacations from June 1 in all the government schools operating under Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) in Islamabad.

According to notification issued here by Ministry of CADD on Tuesday all the government schools and colleges in Islamabad will remain closed for summer vacation from June 1 to August 7 and they will reopen on August 8.
