Traffic diversion plan for public meeting today
The Karachi traffic police on Saturday issued a traffic diversion plan in connection with a public meeting of a political party to be held at the Bagh-e-Jinnah today (Sunday).
Officials said that, on September 1, 2024, a public meeting would be organised by a religious and political party at the Bagh Jinnah adjacent to the Mazar-e-Quaid at 3pm. The Karachi traffic police in this regard prepared a special traffic plan for the venue and its nearby areas to prevent public from inconvenience and facilitate the participants.
Parking arrangements for the participants have been made at the Excise Chowrangi, Jinnah Garden near the Mazar-e-Quaid and the Mazar-e-Quaid (VIP) Gate.
The participants coming from Sohrab Goth, Water Pump and Liaquatabad can park their vehicles near the Post Office in Guru Mandir to go to the Bagh-e-Jinnah.
The participants coming from Central District via Liaquatabad can park their vehicles in the parking lot and go to the venue. Moreover, the participants from District South and Korangi coming from Sharea Faisal, Shahrah-e-Quaideen and Society Office Signal can park their vehicles near the Khudadad Colony Underpass and go to the venue of the public meeting.
Officials added that the participants coming from District West via Pak Colony, Shah Nawaz Bhutto Chowk, Rexer Lane and Garden can park their vehicles at the VIP Gate of the Mazar-e-Quaid.
The participants coming from District Malir and East via Sharea Faisal, Karsaz, Stadium Road and New Town Jail Flyover can park their vehicles near the Dawood Engineering University and go to the venue.
The general public will not be allowed to go from Jamshed Road and Teen Hati to Naumaish, from Gurumandir to Bahadur Yar Jang Road and from Jamshed Road to Jail Flyover. They can take the Tariq Road route.
The traffic coming from Shahrah-e-Quaideen will not be allowed beyond the Noorani signal from where they can take the route of Khalid bin Waleed Road.
The traffic coming from University Road will be diverted from Jail Chowrangi to Shaheed-e-Millat Road on the left side.
The traffic coming from Jail Chowrangi to Jamshed Road will be diverted towards Soldier Bazar and Business Recorder Road. The general public will not be allowed from Regal to New MA Jinnah Corridor. The commuters can take the route from Lucky Star to Sharea Faisal.
The buses and minibuses and other heavy traffic coming from Nazimabad and Teen Hati will not be allowed to move from Lasbela to Gurumandir, while small vehicles will be able to go. Heavy vehicles can take the route of Nishtar Road.
The traffic coming from MA Jinnah Road Tibet Signal will be diverted from Capri Cinema to Soldier Bazar No 1 Bahadur Yar Jung Road.
The entry of all types of heavy traffic will be prohibited on Shahrah-e-Quaideen. The general public has been requested to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and traffic police to avoid inconvenience.
