Karachi police chief Javed Alam Odho on Wednesday launched a mobile phone app called “Police 15 Karachi” to facilitate the citizens.
Speaking at a media briefing at the Airport Police Station, he said he felt glad that they were launching the Madadgar-15 police app. This app has been introduced to take advantage of technology and for the convenience of the citizens.
He said the most effective way to reach the public is 15, and there would still be the telephone usage in it.
If this app is downloaded by a citizen, they will not have to tell the police about the location. This app will become a source of a rapid police response. Odho said that downloading the app would help the citizens in a timely manner.
DIG Imran Yaqoob of Madadgar-15 also spoke to the media and said their aim was to ensure that any person in trouble was helped quickly.
This app has been developed on the android platform and the app search can be done by writing Police 15 Karachi. He added that the registration has to be done once and only one button needs to be clicked and citizens won’t even need to dial Madadgar-15.
DIG Yaqoob said they would know the person’s location right away. Each vehicle is fitted with an auxiliary Police 15 tablet. Whoever opens the link on this tablet, the location of the affected person will be opened.
Moreover, the app can be downloaded from the Play Store via the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smartronix.spprod, the Police 15 Helpline of Android Mobile App.
Additional IG Odho was given a detailed briefing about the app. After downloading this app and after dialing 15 from this app, the police will be able to see the location of the caller and will reach the spot.
