Bajaur elders ask govt to help resolve dispute
KHAR: The elders of the Alizai Satanadar tribe on Monday asked the government to take notice of injustices being meted out to them by the local residents in the Shawara area in Bajaur tribal district.
Speaking at a press conference, the elders, including Zahid Shah, Muhammadi Shah, Bakht Shah, Gran Khan, Amirzada and others said that their uncle had planted a few trees in Shawara area, which were then cut by them.
However, they said the local residents charged them with cutting off over 2,000 trees and imposed a heavy on the tribe through unilateral decision by a jirga.
The elders said that the local residents had also registered a case against them under 3 MPO.They said that they tried their best to resolve the issue through a jirga but the local people were reluctant to that. The elders appealed to the district administration to take notice of the ‘excesses’ of residents and provide them justice.
