Mufti Munir, son’s bail extended
PESHAWAR: The special court of anti-terrorism on Thursday extended the interim bail of known religious scholar Mufti Munir Shakir and his son Abdullah Shakir in a case pertaining to extortion and terrorism charges against them to August 31.
According to the prosecution, the police had registered a case against Mufti Munir Shakir on the complaint of a citizen, Misbahuddin, who claimed that the cleric had attacked his house with explosives on July 10, 2014 in the limits of Bhanamari Police Station.
The police had registered a case against the accused under the Anti-Terrorism Act.When the ATC Judge Muhammad Iqbal Khan started hearing in the case, Abdullah Shakir appeared in the court while his father Mufti Munir Shakir did not turn up.The court extended the interim bail and restrained the police from arresting the accused till August 31 in the instant case.
