Lanjar orders finalising draft of Narcotics Control Act at the earliest
Sindh Law and Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar has said it is very important to make effective act of legislation against drug trafficking against mafias involved in peddling narcotics.
Lanjar said this as he presided over a meeting on Thursday to review the draft of the Sindh Control of Narcotics Act 2024, which was presented by the provincial cabinet’s Sub-Committee.
After formulation, the draft will be presented before a cabinet meeting for discussion and approval. The meeting was attended by prosecutors, advocates general, secretaries for law, excise and narcotics control Sindh and other officers.
The law minister said the draft of the Narcotics Control Act 2024 should be finalised at the earliest. In addition, a draft containing additional recommendations for the act should be prepared and sent for review, approval and verification.
