Special persons highlight issues at khuli kutchehry
BARA: The representatives of the special persons at a khuli kutchehry here on Tuesday expressed concern over the performance of various government departments and urged the authorities concerned to take notice of the situation.
The khuli kutchehry was organised by the district administration for special persons in Bara tehsil.Additional Deputy Commissioner, Khyber, Nauman Khan, Assistant Commissioner, Bara, Shahabuddin, tehsildar Ghuncha Gul Mohmand, DSP Swalzar Khan Afridi and representatives of all the government departments attended the meeting. Special persons’ association’s president Hidayat Khan highlighted the problems of the community at the open forum. “There is no facility for the disabled people in many government departments as they are made to stand in lines,” he said.
He expressed disappointment over the performance of the Education Department saying that the disabled teachers were being posted in far-off areas. He said that the officials of the Social Welfare Department had failed to come up to the expectations.
“The officials of the department have failed to deliver as the funds are being distributed on the basis of nepotism,” he alleged.He demanded the government to facilitate the disabled people through the Benazir Income Support Programme.
