Iesco recovers Rs3,949.27m from defaulters
Islamabad:On the directives of Chairman board of directors Dr. Tahir Masood campaigns against power pilferers and defaulters are on full swing in entire Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) region, says a press release.
Iesco Chief Executive Muhammad Naeem Jan while briefing said that IESCO detection teams with collaboration police, FIA and other law enforcement agencies charged Rs676.23 million to electricity thieves, 2,345 FIRs registered and police also arrested 1,907 power pilferers.
In second on going national campaign, Iesco recovery teams ensured the recovery more than Rs3,949.27 million from 148,617 running and dead defenders. Teams also removed meter and transformers of those who didn’t pay outstanding bills. Iesco chief urged valuable customers to identify power theft and payment of electricity bill in due course of time being as a national responsibility.
