Rules’ violation: LCWU seeks explanation from eight professors
LAHORE : The administration of Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) has sought an explanation from eight professors including five heads of departments for violating the rules and regulations.
According to the notice, signed by the Vice-Chancellor, these teachers had written a letter to the Chancellor, ignoring the Vice-Chancellor first, which was a violation of Clause 32 of the University Service Statutes and Clause 47 (3) of the Punjab Government’s Channel of Communication Rules of Business 2011.
It also stated that any correspondence or complaint was first made to the Office of the Vice-Chancellor under the rules and policy of Lahore College for Women University and if no action was taken on the complaint within reasonable or stipulated time, then the applicant could approach the higher authorities.
A LCWU spokesperson said that among those who have been issued notices are Dr M Afzal Head of Economics Department, Dr Arifa Tahir Head of Environment Science, Dr Bushra Naseem Head of Chemistry Department, Dr Farzana Rashid Head of
Zoology Department, Dr Rifat Dar Chairperson Research Center for Art and Design, Dr Mehwish Iqtdar former Head of Biotech Department, Dr Sumeera Sajjad, Director of Students Affairs and Dr Zahra Kayani.
A response has been sought from these professors within three days. A copy of the notice has also been sent to the offices of Punjab Governor, Chief Minister and Secretary Higher Education.
