Recruitment in all cantonment boards banned

ISLAMABAD: An immediate ban has been imposed on recruitment in all cantonment boards across the country.
The Director General, Military Land and Cantonments, Ministry of Defence, had sent a letter to all Regional Directors, Military Land and Cantonments, all MEOs and all CEOs withdrawing the order to lift the ban on recruitment on April 5, 2024. However, for the health and education sectors, as per the requirement, recruitment on daily wages will be possible with the permission of the Headquarters, Military Land and Cantonment.
In a letter issued by Assistant Director General (HR) of the Ministry of Defence, Military Land and Cantonment, Muhammad Ali Shahid, on August 16, it has been said that the step has been taken to control the performance and budget of the cantonment boards, which has been decided by the competent authority DG Military Land and Cantonment.
In the letter, all the officials have been directed to strictly implement the order and it has been said that in case of violation, strict disciplinary action will be taken against responsible officers.
