Global warming is a challenge to all humanity which demands our immediate attention. Every individual can make a difference and must learn about the causes, effects, and solutions to climate change. Our day-to-day activities are releasing massive amounts of greenhouse gases, leading to a global average temperature rise for many decades. This has resulted in rising sea levels, extreme weather events (heatwaves, droughts, floods), melting glaciers and polar ice, ecosystem disruption, human health issues, food insecurity, and economic instability. Pakistan has about five trees per person which is far below the global average. We do not have enough trees to combat climate change.
We must take practical steps to come out of this situation. Planting a few trees may seem like a negligible move, but with collective action it can grow into a forest of positive change. The fight against global warming is a shared responsibility, and together, we can make a difference. By planting trees, reducing fuel and energy consumption, using renewable energy and LED bulbs, and turning off lights, electronics, and appliances when not in use, we can induce positive change.· We must also demand that governments prioritize climate policies and introduce regulations to reduce carbon emissions.
