MANSEHRA: Residents of the Dodial on Sunday demanded the government to upgrade the girls’ only high school in the area to the higher secondary level.
They said that they had been demanding the upgrading of a local government girls’ high school for long but to no avail.
Tariq Adil Khankhel, a local, said almost all schoolgirls had passed the matriculation examination but most of them would quit education or move to other towns for intermediate education which might put an extra burden on their families.
He said students whose parents couldn’t afford expenses incurred on the education of their daughters wouldn’t be allowed to move to other towns to pursue their further education.
